More about our Career Program at FNSS

Career programs prepare students for entry into the workplace or continued studies at the post-secondary level in a specific career sector and emphasize generic employability skills. Eligible work experience courses include the following:

  • Work Experience 12A Ministry-Authorized Work Experience
  • Work Experience 12B Ministry Authorized Work Experience

Introduction to Youth Work In Trades (Formerly Intro to Secondary School Apprenticeship). This entails in-school assignments and 30 hours of volunteer  work in a variety of trades settings

  • SSA 11A Secondary School Apprenticeship
  • SSA 11B Secondary School Apprenticeship
  • SSA 12A Secondary School Apprenticeship

Career Programs correspond to the eight Focus Areas used in the Graduation Program. The Focus Areas are:

  • Health and Human Services
  • Liberal Arts and Humanities
  • Science and Applied Science
  • Tourism, Hospitality and Foods
  • Trades and Technology
